Samir Handanovic did a great game, and Inter beat Napoli 2-0 in the Coppa Italia. Stevan Jovetic and Adem Ljajic scored the goals.
Naples’ fans suffered with dignity while their favorites were defeated at home by Inter in the Coppa Italia quarter-final on Tuesday night. The guests were better.
Napoli was best before the break, but Inter’s Slovenian keeper, Samir Handanovic, did a great match, and rescued his team. Inter got better after break, and fifteen minutes before the end of the game Stevan Jovetic got a great ball and scored. Napoli threw his heavy artillery into play, and shifted Gonzalo Higuain. Despite a couple of good opportunities they could not defeat Handanovic. On a quick counterattack in overtime, Adem Ljajic scored shortly after Dries Mertens had seen red for Napoli, and thus ended in a dramatic 2-0, much appreciated by Inter’s coach Roberto Mancini.
Inter will now meet either Juventus or Lazio in the semi-finals.
