Last week it became clear that Norway will face Iceland at Ullevaal Stadion on June 1st. Now another match was confirmed for the same period.
Norway will play against Belgium on Sunday, the 5th of June. Belgium has remained in the top of the FIFA rankings for the last three months, and they won their EC qualifying group. The match will be played in Brussels.
“We are very pleased that to have a very good opponent. Belgium has evolved tremendously in recent years and is now at the top of FIFA rankings. They have class players at all levels. It will be a great challenge for us. Playing against this kind of team gives us great references both individually and collectively before the World Cup qualifiers start. It is important for us to be best prepared for the qualifying round, coach Per-Mathias Høgmo said.
The previous meeting with Belgium was in 2004 when Frode Johnsen and Vidar Riseth scored Norway’s goals in a 2-2 match at Ullevaal, while last away game ended 1-0 to Belgium in 2002.
