This is not good for Atlas. The red and black club confirmed on its website that Rafa Marquez is missing for the next game in the Clausura tournament 2016 versus Rayados de Monterrey. He is suffering from a micro tear in his right leg that will have him idle between one and two weeks.
The Mexican central back was forced off to rest in the last game against America with a sore thigh. Following the proper medical examination, Marquez was found to be suffering from a small hamstring injury in the left posterior thigh. He is currently under treatment.
This scrambled the red and black defense for the tournament. The medical team is working intensely to have him back in the pitch as soon as possible. Depending on how the injury will evolve, we will know if he will be able to play in the 4th round.
Finally, the coach Gustavo Costas showed concern about the result on Saturday against America; Atlas suffered a heavy defeat at home (0-3).
